Yup, it's festival season, which means the aisles at Boots will soon be ransacked for as much dry shampoo as a person can carry, and that all time coveted texturizing product to create those beach-y waves without having to step on a plane. But which do you choose? With so many hair brands now bringing out their own versions of bedhead in a bottle - and some with hefty price tags - it's difficult to know which will do what it says on the tin. I'm really quite lazy when it comes to my hair, so low maintenance and minimal effort is key. As a result, I'm quite experienced when it comes to texturisers! So I thought I'd share with you my top 3 for those summer waves...
Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray - As the mid-range priced product of the three, this spray from Toni & Guy offers a light to medium hold that is perfect for just misting over hair to create a little texture and body. Applied all over to wet or dry hair, I like to just tousle loose curls with my fingers for ultra natural waves. It just adds that bit of definition and control to my natural curls, but I'd only recommend those with quite fine hair types use it as it can be a little sticky.
Bumble & Bumble Hair Undressing Crème - As the most expensive of the three, this crème from Bumble & Bumble couldn't be more different in terms of texture. With a concentrated, thick and gritty consistency, it can be quite sticky so only a very small amount is needed to apply to damp hair. I like to use this at sparingly at my roots for extra volume and strong hold, and I usually keep away from applying to the very ends of my hair so to avoid tangling. Letting your hair air dry gets the best results from this one, so perfect for the summer!
Charles Worthington Texturising Spray - Finally, the cheapest and probably my favourite out of the three, and a direct dupe for the infamous Oribe volume spray but at a fraction of the price. Only to be applied to dry hair, I concentrate this at the roots and mid-lengths of my hair and scrunch in for achieving instant volume. It's so easy to use, literally spray and go, and as it's transparent it doesn't tangle or weigh my hair down like a hairspray hold can. It really is great for every kind of hair day, whether freshly washed and needing volume, or a day old and needing a pick me up.
